Energy Savings

When you boil water in a kettle or pan on the stove, plenty of heat escapes from around the burner or from the top. An electric kettle solves that waste!

Here are several other reasons and electric kettle makes perfect sense.

Extra Burner

When coffee or tea time arrives, you are not tying up one of your burners on the stove.

Plus, someone assisting you in the kitchen can reach the kettle without disturbing your efforts slaving over the stove.

The Mueller Coffee Gooseneck Electric Kettle Set to the right is made in Austria, and it comes with a pour-over drip stainless steel filter set. I wanted a more sophisticated look in the kitchen, and this gooseneck kettle accomplished my goal.

Auto Shut-Off

With an electric kettle, you never suffer boil-overs, a dry pan, or even forgetting that a burner is still “on.”

Once boil is achieved, electric kettles with auto shut-off do just that. They turn themselves “off” without you having to do a thing.

The Hamilton Beach Electric Tea Kettle on the left has a satisfying “pop” signifying it has accomplished its boil.

Other Uses

Right after I pour water into my Bodum French Press to brew coffee, next I pour water over my oatmeal.

We also use our electric kettle in the bathroom sometimes to clear the drain. A bit of baking soda followed by vinegar, washed down with boiling water clears most clogs.

Another Reason

If you’ve ever had to replace a burner element on your stove; you know it’s not inexpensive.

Daily coffee and tea drinkers who use a burner twice a day, every day of the year, for ten years… well… it’s likely you’ll eventually wear out that burner.

An electric tea kettle is a lot less expensive to replace.
