How To Make Your Kayaking Trips Easier // Get A Cart!
A cart. That’s it. Your kayaking trips will be so much easier now! Our usual kayaking trip portage is down a 150-foot section of dock. By the time we have our first aid and bleeding control kit, water, pump, sponge, paddle float, spray skirt, snacks, and whatever else loaded; our kayaks are pretty heavy. Carrying them on one side of the body, even with two people, tends to make you a bit awkward, off balance, plus can strain your back and make you grumpy.

This year, the Malone Clippertrx deluxe kayak/canoe cart with no-flat tires arrived with no cover box, so Bill’s surprise gift for us was blown. Besides, we were ready for some kayaking trips made easier. We didn’t realize how much that trek down the long dock kept us from jumping in the water more often. Now we know. Plus, no extra tires to pump up monthly!
Becoming Kayakers
Last year’s early surprise Christmas present to ourselves was kayaks. I found one nearly exactly like Bill used to have years ago and had sold. But then, as the holidays approached; he got more and more interested in getting kayaks for us. So, to avoid a “Gift of the Magi” moment, I had to spill the beans and bring his out to play early. Then we found mine, and off we went!
Always Learning About Safety
That’s how this all began. Since that first trip with Bill using a canoe paddle and me paddling with a stick, we’ve learned so much.
