Favorite Kits on Sale // Vanderkitten Haul // Mix and Match Cycling Wear for Women
There’s nothing like a new cycling kit to get you motivated for Fall Riding! While turning over spring and summer work clothes for fall and winter wear, my exercise drawer had a bit of a clean-out and turnover as well. I decided to take advantage of the Vanderkitten discounts, order a few new cycling shorts, and try to clear out anything I had not worn recently.
Season Turnover Sale
Taking advantage of Vanderkitten’s end-of-year clear-out sale, I invested in two pairs of cycling shorts, the RZ and the Revelation, with plans to mix and match some coordinating jerseys.

I set aside three jersey contenders that would potentially work with the incoming shorts. Unboxing day! With jerseys lined up, I anticipated which would make the next “cut” and match my new shorts.
Time to Take Stock
While I was waiting for the shorts to arrive, I had brutally eliminated three other cycling jerseys I had not worn in two years – that’s long enough, right? Off to consignment they went before I could change my mind. My exercise drawer also had a thorough clear out while I eagerly awaited the new shorts’ arrival. I guess I was anxious! Excited!

With season stock turnover happening at VK, suddenly, the coordinating shorts for RZ Pro were on sale! Score! Once I opened the package – of course, they were an exact match for the jersey! My black RZ jersey and jacket are now a complete set! Here’s how I mixed-and-matched last year.

The company owner just messaged me – the RZ bibs might go on deeper discount soon, so keep an eye on the VK site. Although I prefer straight shorts, I know many of you like the bib style better, so what a great opportunity to add them to your collection. Here’s how I coordinated the white RZ jersey with all-black shorts before the matching shorts arrived.

Easy to Coordinate
Last year, I had picked up the RZ Pro Jersey in both white and black background, but hadn’t gotten the shorts yet. I’d been wearing the RZ Pro Jersey with Vanderkitten’s black Embrace Shorts shown above. There are a couple sizes of the Embrace Jersey still left with a terrific teal chest stripe on the VK site, if you have all-black shorts that need a jersey partner.

Repurposing Single Items
Next, the Revelation Tri Shorts… With such distinct colors, a handy hip-height pocket, and lovely thigh gripping fabric, I was already in love.
I had a REI jersey, and a Pearl Izumi jersey still to test… Another perfect match! My cycling partner Bill had given me the yellow jersey for highway visibility. Since it was a gift, I really wanted to work it in with my VK items. It goes great with the Vanderkitten black Embrace Shorts, but now – even spiffier with the Revelation Shorts!

My workout shirt is no longer available – Meow – one of the perks of being a VK vip is access to some first-run and exclusive colors of the kits available to the public. But, even if you’re not a VIP, there are some great deals right now with seasonal kit turnover and new season color changes.
Great Sale Right Now!
You can pick up the Supernatural kit below in hot pink for a great price in the sale. Purple kits were for the VIP’s, so sorry, but there’s also a Cosmic Kitten set with teeny kitten paws! Sizes are limited this late in the season, but you can always do what I did and incorporate your coordinating items to build a few new kit combinations.

That’s my Supernatural in purple – it looks even better in person. I have the coordinating jacket, and even gloves! The jacket features a reflective stripe on the back, perfect for our pre-dawn rides in the dark.
Those beautiful gloves to the right? Oh my goodness – Handup gloves. They have three different weights, and plenty of graphic designs. Mine were a VK special, and the weight is perfect for chilly rides or even Summer early morning rides.
Supernatural in Pink
Here’s the Supernatural kit in the vibrant pink! You can either do what I did with the sale items and pick and choose single pieces to coordinate with your existing items, or, assemble an entirely coordinated kit – oooo la la!
There’s even a Supernatural sports bra available with the same great stripes and kitty. AND, there’s a Supernatural tri top and tri shorts too.
Mix and Match
Cosmic Kitten is full of a constellation of kitty paws! So cute!
Vanderkitten also has tri shorts and tri tops, tri suits, and even some hats and trail jerseys. Due to the time of year, stock is running low, so you might have to do a bit of digging to find what you want.

And… Just WHAT was in that beautifully organized drawer?
Right next to the door where I head out for runs or rides, the closest drawer to the door has what I need on the way out to hit the pavement. Just look at all those socks featuring VK kittens inspiring me to suit up and get moving!
Due to all-too-frequent hair washings, I favor the really chunky hair elastics. They hold my hair firmly without breaking strands.
Chamois Butter – Her – a necessity for cycling. Best part? It smells divine due to the lavender. Sharing that cubicle is the Halo cycling sweat band – I have the adjustable tie version.
Another great chamois cream for ladies is the Petal Power Joy Ride Women’s Natural Anti-Chafe Cream for Cycling. Their product contains no parabens, no petroleum products, and is completely vegan. Plus Petal Power has a female founder; former pro racer Jill Hamilton!
In the third section from the left, my Wahoo Tickr heart rate monitor and my Garmin HRM-Dual heart rate monitor. The Wahoo communicated with my former cycling gps, the Garmin with my replacement. Gold Bond medicated powder is handy for preventing chafing. Looks so old-fashioned, but there’s nothing like it!
Using any of my Amazon links does not increase your cost, but they might reward me with a small percentage of your sale in return for my efforts to share with you what I use on a nearly-daily basis.
